My Auntie from the Philippines.

We were able to skype with Auntie Joy. We met here in Oct 2009 with the COTW. She was a chaperone. She is not my aunt ( more like a sister) but the kids called her Auntie so it stuck with me. :p She is so special to me.

We had so much fun Skyping. She introduced us to her little sister. We laughed.... and mom cried. We miss her SO much.

Joy and I

She was funny. We asked what she missed from the her tour in the U.S and she said " I miss the snow.... I miss the Cracker Barrel". :) Gotta LOVE her!

She will forever be part of my "heart" family. I hope I can see her again when I go to the Philippines to meet my precious Jazzy Rain.

So my Dad brought in the mail and set it on the counter. I saw it from the kitchen. I cream colored letter!!!

I was sure it would be from my precious filipino princess or her mom because I just recieved a letter from my sweet Princess from Indonesia, but I had to wait till my mom got home from a visit with her cousin. We have an agreement that we have to wait till both of us are together to open any letters from any of are kids. -_-

Well she came home... :)

Although I could read the letter over and over it is preety long so will share just a few precious inserts....

Miss Alyssa tell your mom that she is very much welcomed as one of my new friends, thank you very much.....

Miss Alyssa thank you very much for helping Jazzy through prayers and also you friend Hannah. ( I let Hannah write a note at the bottom of on of my letters) ........

Kadiatu!!

Meet Kadiatu.....

Isn't she beautiful?

Kadiatu is 4 years old and lives in the Wellington community in Sierra Leone. Her father abandoned her 2 yrs ago. She lives with her Mother and Grandpa.

She lives in a two room apartment.... and I had the great pleasure to buy her a simple bed net to protect her from Malaria. I bought her a net through See Your Impact!

This is a great organization! You buy a gift to give somebody and within two weeks you get to meet the life you changed. How cool is that?

What a blessing it is to be able to see the face of the precious life you changed.... to know her name.

Christmas is a time to give. To give in honor of the greatest gift ever given. He gave so much it is really the least we can do to give it away.

All for Him,

An Extra Special Mail Call!!

Wes, my brother saw me running down the hill to the house and when I came in said very matter of factly " You got a letter" :) YEP!!
I went to the mail box and before I even pulled the mail out I saw it! A cream colored letter! I letter from one of our family members from another country! In this case from my beautiful Regita!

Well Regita had some very special news to share in this letter ......

Dear Alyssa Price,
It is nice to see you! :) I am glad to talk with you dispite though a letter. My family and I are well. My mother is conceiving her third child. We expect that it will be born in November.( It might already be born!!) We hope that it is a baby boy. We have not idea of what it's gender is as she has not had any  USG photos taken yet. Please pray for the baby to be born normally . How many people do you have in you family? I thank you for caring about me. :)
Love in Christ,
Regita

Regita is going to be a big sister!! I am so excited for this precious family. So this month we are not only celebrating the birth of our Lord and saviour but also the birth of this precious gift he has given this beautiful family. How awesome of a christmas gift is that???

I pray this christmas that we will all receive/give gifts that make a difference for Christ and honor Him. It is his Birthday after all!!

Trimming the tree!

Yesterday we had our annual tree decorating party thing. We decorate the tree and mom makes our favorite Christmas finger foods.

It was different this year because Mike and Amber were not here this year..... but it was still great. I love decorating the tree almost as much Christmas itself.

We just spend some time together and and everyone is in a good mood.
This is my favorite ornament.

I recieved this ornament for Chistmas 2009. The christmas after I met this precious girl from Nepal.

This is our puppy ornament with a pic of our Daisy when she was just a wee puppy.

And the finished result!

What do you think?  So what do you do to celebrate the Saviors birth. . . . .the real reason for CHRISTmas and the greatest gift ever given.

This and That!

My mom and I have been so blessed reading stories told by the bloggers in Ecuador! It is truly amazing. I remember reading the blogger trip to the Philippines which led me to sponsor my precious Jazzy girl. Hopfully some day I will be a blogger to the Philippines! I pray God will allow!

My mom and I decieded to pick some children from Ecuador that need sponsors and pray for them by name. That God would bless them with a loving, writing sponsor! I would love to share the three precious girl I have chosen.

Abigail is six yrs old and  lives with her mother, father and two brothers or sisters

For fun, Abigail enjoys playing house, playing with dolls and hide-and-seek. She attends Bible class regularly and is in kindergarten where her performance is average. If you would like to sponsor or just learn more about Abigail you can click on her name under her pic

Jazeel is also six yrs old. She lives with her parents and two brothers or sisters.

Art, playing with dolls and playing group games are Jazeel's favorite activities. In primary school her performance is above average and she also regularly attends church activities. Also if you would like to see Sweet Jazeel's complete bio please click on he name under her picture.

Melany is a only child who lives with both her parents. She is six yrs old too. Her sad face just breaks my heart and in that same heart I know she is beautiful and God has great plans for her
Playing house, playing with dolls and playing ball games are Melany's favorite activities. In kindergarten her performance is average and she also regularly attends Bible class. To see more info on this precious girl just click on her name below her pic

All the of these beautiful girls have been waiting and praying for more than six months for a loving sponsor. Maybe you can be their answer to their prayers. Maybe God is calling you to sponsor a child maybe not one of these...  PLEASE look at some of the many children waiting for hope..... for love..... maybe even for YOU!

My great friend Hannah as just started a blog. She corresponds with a little boy. I would tell you more but you will just have to hear it from Hannah here

I really hate to ask for prayer for myself but the weather changes  have got to me and I am sick. Could you please pray I feel better? I would really appreciate that. :) Thank you.

                                                                                  All for Him,

Update on Aljane!

I have an awesome update on Aljane! Josh, her sponsor ( and the sound guy for her choir team) is in the Philippines and was able to visit her. I have a updated picture of her!

This is Aljane and I in Dec. 09.

This is Aljane about two weeks ago!

I can't believe how much she has grown. She is doing well. She was able to move out of the gym she and her family was living in and move into a "house". We are so thankful!

We sent a card to Josh before he left to give to her. When he gave it to her he said " This is from Auntie Teena and Alyssa. You remember them right?" He said Aljane just smiled and said " Of course" :) That just makes my heart leap. I was so worried they would go home and forget us and how much we love them. Thank you to all who prayed for Aljane.

This is all the kids from Aljane's choir. They are sending love to the west team ( they are the east team)
I hope you enjoy it.

Blessings.

Every week I work in Awana, the childrens program at our church. I love it so much. The kids are sweet.

All of the kids.

I work with the Kindergarten class. They are cute.

This was bling and camo night :)

We told all the kids to smile for this pic well the little girl behind me who is pouting came to me after the picture and said with big, sad eyes ''I didn't smile'' lol. Sweet girl.

I enjoy laughing with the kids. Taking with them about their duck who they named ''Fat duck''. Haha. I love talking with them about Jesus and answering their questions.

What has blessed you lately?  I would love to hear about it.

All you Him,
Lysa

You won't believe it!

So....... Yesterday when I went to the mail box ( Can you guess ;) a letter was waiting for me! I was so excited. I had no clue who it was from because I just recieved letters from both my girls last week. Well.... It was from Sweet Jazzy Rain! :)

I usually recieve letters from Mrs. Priscila, Jazzy's mom..... but this was written by sweet Jazzy. It was her first time writing me. :). It was precious...... as all my letters are. :)

She drew me a picture.......

So talented.

Jazzy told me a lot about her project, Kings kids Student center in the Philippines. There are 276 attending her project. Jazzy gets to her project riding her tricycle. When she is at her project she usually eats rice meal with viand. I have to google that. :) Her favorite things to do at the project is to Memorize verses, Sing, and play. Her is what she wrote me......

Dear Alyssa Price, Hello have a pleasant good day, to you and your family. Thank you you very much for sending a beautiful messege to me and supporting me in compassion and also your prayers to me. Merry Christmas.

Yeah I know it has been a long time since I have blogged.  I have been very busy with school and other stuff. :(

When we got home a letter from sweet Jazzy Rain was sitting on my bed!

So cool!!!
Mrs. Priscila, Jazzy mom, writes me because Jazzy is too young and Mrs. Priscila can speak and write english so there is no translation is needed.

Dear Alyssa Price, Hello have a nice day ( that is how she starts all her letters:). Thank you very much for the reply letter to Jazzy Rain. You know she is very happy to read it and looking at your picture. She already finished her first the first period in test in school and every Saturday she attends the K.K.S.C. our compassion student center class and enjoying listening to the teacher about the memory verse and story telling about Jesus.( I am so proud of her) Happy birthday to you this coming Aug, 27, 2011. This coming Oct, 1, 2011 Jazzy Rain celebrates her 8th birthday. Thank you for praying for Jazzy every night and as treated as one of your younger sister. ( That made me tear up) Please pray for Jazzy Rain for given a bright mental ability as well as her brother and sister  so that they can gain more high grades in school. How about you miss Alyssa? How many are you in the family? What is the work of your parents? Jesus will abide you on your daily routine work. More power and Jesus loves you

Please pray for Aljane!

Aljane is one of the filipinos from the Children of the World choir. We got news last night that Aljane's house burnt down.

Isn't she beautiful.

Right now Aljane is living in a gym. Her family can not afford to build another house. She lives with her parents, grandparents, and little brother.

Aljane lost all her pictures in the fire.... Ones of her friend, chaperones, and all the families that she met and stayed with when she was on the tour. Some of the chaperones from the Philippines are going to try and get some pictures together for her for Christmas.

Please pray for Aljane and her family! Pray she will continue to be the happy girl we met two years ago and that through this she will come to love God all the more.

Save a Child fom Malaria!

Today in the mail we recieved a Malaria net from Compassion for my mom to do a presentation on Bite Back

Yep. That is me being protected from mosquitos...... I really don't think I need it :)

But really there are mothers in Africa worried for there children's lifes..... At any moment a child can contract Malaria from a mosquito bite. This is so real to me. Maureen our dear friend from Kenya lost her precious sister from Malaria just two weeks after her nephew past away from T.B...... And Malaria and T.B are both preventable in America.

It is so simple. You can save a life from Malaria just by buying a net for Ten dollars. I am going to. Will you help end Malaria and change a life forever?

All for Him,
Lysa

We are still praying though! It is still very bad ...a lot of flooding. So many people are not safe. So many have lost loved ones. Please pray.

Sorry so short. Just another plea for prayer for the Philippines

You might have already heard.... A big typhoon has hit the north part of the Philippines and part of China!

I heard yesterday and have not had time to blog til now. I was so worried about sweet Jazzy and her family. We prayed and prayed for them... And are still now.

Today I called Compassion and asked if they knew if Jazzy was ok. The ladie said the typhoon did not hit in the area that Jazzy is in. Praise God! I am soooooo relieved. Jazzy and her family is ok! I am so thankful.

I am still worried though. We have not heard anything from my friends from ''Children of the World'' choir :(

Please pray with me... for the Philippines. Please pray for the kids and leaders from the choir.

If you sponsor a child from the Philippines please let me know if they are ok. Or let me pray for them.

My princesses Birthday!

Today is My sweet Jazzy Rain's Birthday. She turns 8 today ( Or for her in the Philippines yesterday).

Such a big girl!

It is the weirdest and greatest thing to love someone so much and you haven't even met them.

I want to tell you a little more about this precious little girl.  Jazzy lives with her mother Mrs Priscilla her older brother Texus Kin and her older sister Zaira Claire ( Claire.... just like my friend over at All for Jesus). Jazzy is the baby of her family and the baby of my compassion family too. :)

Jazzy's father passed away in 2005. :(  She is a partial orphan. It makes me heart broken to think of that baby without a father to keep her safe. I love her so much.

Jazzy's favorite food is fried chicken. Her favorite song is Twinkle little star (that is what she called it :). Her favorite color is pink and yellow. She wants to be a teacher. And her favorite verse is Is. 6:36.

Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God almighty. The earth is filled with His glory.

I love her so much and really really hope to meet her. I want to make my senior trip to the Philippines when I am 18. I pray God would make a way for me to do that.

Happy Birthday, sweet Jazzy Rain.
   I love you. <3

My mom's Birthday!

Today was my mom's birthday! We were too busy having fun with mom I didn't have time to post til now. She turned 50 yrs old (not old :). She has the same birthday as my grandma (her mom). Grandma would have been 89. She past away in 2008.

Right now we are in Florida visting my brother Mike, his wife Amber and my Auntie Sharon. We went to a water park and had a great time... my aunt is a nurse but works at Sea World part time and she gets us in for free and we love it! After the water park we went to eat and then came home and ate cake.

This is mom with Jamira from COTW

I love my mom so much. She is one of my best friends. She is great. I am so thankful for her.

I hope your day was great, Mom.

I love you.

Crazy thought!

My mom and I were riding in the car listening to the christian radio and the man was saying how in America lots of people are living in poverty. I can't remember the percentage. Than he went on to say that to be classified as povery in America you make less then 22,000 a year..... 22,000 thats about 1,800 a month. My mind immediately thought of my sweet little Regita and her family who makes 15.00 a month.

$15.00 a month

I thought of the the many many children in the third world that live on a dollar a day....360 a year not 22,000. I do feel bad for the people in America that stuggle to put food on the table. I know a family we are helping from our church that struggle with not having enough money. But how can we call 22,000 a year poverty when familys are living on a dollar a day in other countries?

It just kind of made me think. Hope it does you too.

All for Him,
~Lysa

I think.....

.... this is the cutest thing!

This little girl is so beautiful. I love how the compassion worker (Maybe mother. I'm not sure) brushes the little girls hair out of her face. So sweet.  Please take a minute to watch.

This and That.

Well.........My family and I have a new puppy. He is the sweetest thing ( other than Jazzy and Regita of course;)
We named him Snoopy.

Him and his dad, Skip. You wouldn't know that right?:)

Also there is this really cool new way to write your sponsor child online. You get to pick a pretty paper and even add pics. You just go to your account and click write your child and it is that easy! Now I will write my kids two times a month instead of once. One by hand and one online. :) I am so excited. I have not recieved a letter in a while...Or at least it feels long to me.:) I am always waiting for one. I can't imagine how a sponsor wouldn't be.

My school is going great. My science is so cool. It is by far my favorite subject. My pre algebra is not and it is not cool but it's ok and my mom says I am doing fine with it. I think my favorite part of school is when I have to write a paper about anything I want to. Then I always write about Compassion and my girls.

I have been missing your comments but I keep reminding myself I am doing this for God's glory and not comment. Thank you for reading and God bless.

All for Him,
~Lysa

Joy on a sad day!

Today my oldest brother Mike launched a church in Conway, Fl. He will be the worship leader and our long time friend Mr. Rick will be the pastor. They had a turn out of 150 people. We are so thankful and excited for what God is doing in the ministry of Grace Conway. We are praising God for the great turn out. We are continuing to pray for the lives in Conway that need God. We are  praying that more people than we can count will be impacted by this new church. Will you pray for the ministy of Grace Conway?

Mike is 12 years older than me (26). He married Amber in 2007. They moved to Florida in June 2010. We see them about every two months. We miss them. We are going for a visit the end of the month. I am so excited.Oh and Mike and Amber sponsor a child with Compassion  too.

Mike is the guy on the stage :)

I know today is a very sad day for all of us because of the 9/11 attack ten years ago. We are praying for those who lost love ones. We pray God would give them comfort.  We also pray for the muslim people who think killing people will get them to heaven. I pray God would open there eyes to the true God who loves them. That they would turn from there horrible ways and seek His face.

So happy for you Mike and Amber. You both are so cool.

Thank all for for reading. I love you guys.

All for Him,
~Lysa
